Faith Morse
From a young age, Faith has been involved in community service. From volunteering with programs to serve the homeless, to working with young children at her church, Faith has always enjoyed helping others.
The same passion and drive that sent her to Mexico to build houses for homeless families led her to law school. She has continued to volunteer for community groups and has been involved in many activities, including organizing and speaking at events raising awareness about human trafficking in Oregon. Faith continues to seek opportunities to serve in the community and she enjoys volunteering. For example, she served on the Board of Mercy’s Gate, a local non-profit that seeks to decrease the threat of homelessness of employed individuals whose wages do not match the costs of basic living. The focus is on long-term stability, increasing skills for navigating trials and strengthening emotional fortitude to handle life’s ongoing challenges. She also served as the Assistant Director of the Immigration Clinic at her church, New Life Church of the Nazarene, providing low-cost services to low-income families.
Faith graduated from Willamette University College of Law magna cum laude. During law school, Faith served as Editor-in-Chief of Willamette Law Online and as an Executive Editor of the Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution. She was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Society, volunteered for the Willamette University Public Interest Law Project, and served in various positions in other extra-curricular groups. Faith’s interest in serving people and justice led her to practice with Andersen Morse & Linthorst.
During law school, Faith worked one-on-one with struggling students to help teach them legal writing and research methods. She worked on plaintiff-side issues in worker’s compensation and social security disability by helping research, draft, and edit briefs for filing in an administrative forum, the U.S. Federal District Court, and in the Oregon Court of Appeals. She worked as a legal intern in the International Human Rights Clinic on a report on Oregon’s infrastructure response to human trafficking published in June 2010. She worked with a team for End Child Prostitution and Trafficking (ECPAT) in New York to analyze the laws regarding child prostitution in all 50 states. She also helped prepare draft rules and commentary for the Committee to Review the Oregon Judicial Code.
In addition to her law degree, Faith earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
She is a member of the Oregon State Bar Association, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, the Jackson County Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice (AAJ). She is the Education Chair of the Anti-Human Trafficking Litigation Group of AAJ and a member of the AAJ Nursing Home Litigation Group. She serves as the Co-Chair of the Oregon Trial Lawyers’ Publication Committee, as a Board Member for the Oregon Jury Project, and serves the Oregon State Bar as Regional Director for the Oregon State Bar Disciplinary Committee, and is the Past Chair of the Oregon State Bar Practice and Procedure Committee. Faith is a 9th Circuit Lawyer Representative. She has also authored an amicus brief for the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association filed with the Oregon Court of Appeals, helping to successfully stop a water-birthing center’s attempt to force a baby who suffered birth trauma into arbitration. Most recently, she was the Southern Oregon Regional Director for the Oregon Trial Lawyers Fire Response team, helping coordinate a team of volunteer lawyers helping Almeda, Obenchain, and Slater fire victims with their insurance claims.
When she’s not doing working or volunteering, she spends time with her husband, son, and two dogs. She enjoys horseback riding, attending plays at the many fantastic local theaters, and reading. Many weekends, she can be found hiking or riding in the natural beauty around Medford, Oregon.
